Figure drawing has been the standard by which we measure the art of Western Civilization since the Italian renaissace. Although realistic drawing was not stressed during my college years, additional studies at the Art Student's League of New York and involvment in drawing groups in Winston-Salem, Hickory, and Salisbury, NC, have provided an adequate education in figurative work. This fall I began teaching figure drawing at the Waterworks Visual Arts Center in Salisbury, NC.
