I was a member of the Pastel Society of North Carolina for several years. Pastel is a wonderful media that combines drawing and painting into one evolving process with line, color, shape ,and texture.

Most of the works shown here do not use pastel in the "accepted" manner of soft pastel only, these works are primarily drawn with pastel and use the nu-pastel brand of hard pigement with Grumbacker soft pastel only when bold  areas of color are needed. In most art exhibits organized by pastel organizations it is required that the works have more than 80% soft pastel. 

I finally exhibited in one of the PSNC shows in Statesville this winter. Someday I may actually attend a meeeting!
